Downtown Knoxville will add a new Embassy Suites to Gay Street. Oliver Smith Realty and Auction Company has recently purchased the William F. Conley Building, a 13 Story condo and office building. The property will be renovated and transformed into an Embassy Suites. Having a major hotel chain will be a benefit for downtown Knoxville as travelers now have even more reasons to stay downtown. When completed the property will be a 13 story, 154,000 sqft mixed use hotel with restaurants and 160 hotel units. The hotel is expected to provide 75 jobs. There are also plans to lease 75-90 parking spaces from a privately-owned garage.
