We have recently worked on a deal that will convert the old Park National Bank / William F Conley Building on the corner of Gay St. and Union Street into Knoxville’s newest Embassy Suites Hotel.
The original building opened on June 26, 1974 and has been an iconic example of Knoxville mid-century architecture. The owner, Alpesh Patel plans to renovate the interior but leave as much of the original exterior as possible to maintain the historic significance of the site.
“The look of the building is very unique and that is why they did not reface it”
– Oliver Smith
The property will host not just the hotel but a suite of businesses that will bring even more choices to downtown Knoxville. Currently planned shops include:
- Makers Donuts
- K Brew
- Knox Mason
- Wake Foot Sanctuary foot spa
- A bagel shop
- Topgolf Swing Suite Simulated Golf Experience
The Hotel will feature:
- A 14th Floor Rooftop bar
- A rooftop indoor/outdoor pool (open year-round)
- 176 Suites
- Mid-Century inspired interior design elements.
Construction is planned for completion around November.
